NSA's Gary Kuty Joins Guardian 8

In November our Managing Director, Gary H. Kuty announced that he had accepted a position with Guardian 8, a relatively new security industry technology company as its Vice President of Sales.  For the past twelve years Gary had served as the CEO & President of Kuty & Associates, LLC, a marketing and sales consulting agency that worked exclusively within the private security industry.  Gary will oversee the day to day sales activities of five domestic and one international sales people that the company employs.  The company is based in Scottsdale, AZ and produces the highly acclaimed ProV2, a new technology of self-defense and audio & visual capabilities developed exclusively for the private security industry.  The ProV2 was designed to mitigate risks for security departments while increasing officer safety and the safety of their clients.  Gary will continue to manage the National Security Alliance along with his long time former assistant Traci Abner.  You can contact Gary at his new e-mail address at

NSA Winter Meeting To Be Conducted In Scottsdale, Arizona

The winter owners meeting of the National Security Alliance will be conducted in Scottsdale, Arizona on February 25, 26, 2015.  The meeting will be jointly hosted by Kim Matich, Anderson Security agency and Gary Kuty, Guardian 8.  The two day session will be conducted at the Guardian 8 offices located in Scottsdale, AZ.  The winter meeting is the major planning session for the year by the owners group of the NSA.  Kim & Gary promise to make this a very exciting event mixing educational and workshop meetings with fun activities.  The climate in Scottsdale is ideal in late February and should provide for a great meeting environment.

Advantage Security Deploys the ProV2

When a potential new customer calls to enquire about placing a security officer at their site, they are often faced with a difficult decision: Do they need an armed or an unarmed officer? Historically these have been the only available options, and there is a substantial difference between the two.

At Advantage Security, we’ve been excited to learn that there is now a third, much more versatile option, one that bridges the gap between armed and unarmed. A security officer equipped with an Enhanced Non-Lethal (ENL) device has a host of tools available – tools that both improve officer safety and reduce customer liability.

To qualify as Enhanced Non-Lethal, the device must give the user at least two non-lethal options and must have an integrated alerting or communication capability in one common platform. Advantage Security has begun to deploy such a device – the ProV2, developed by Guardian 8 – at some of our more active sites. The ProV2 gives our officers the ability to video record or take high-speed photographs of an incident, to call for backup without fumbling for a radio or cell phone, to deter a threatening subject with a laser, siren, and/or strobe light, and to even defend themselves against attack with OC (pepper spray).

We are impressed with many aspects of the Prov2, from its surprising affordability to Guardian 8’s remarkable customer service. We are most enthusiastic, though, about the way the device keeps our officers safer and protects us from costly litigation. It also gives us an advantage over our competitors when bidding on new business. We don’t see a downside.
