Recommended last year by NSA member Michael Duffyfrom Per Mar Security, Brad offered an updated overview that was clear, concise and highly informative, giving all in the room a clearer perspective on the looming ACA changes and what options security companies in particular will have to consider have moving forward.

Mr. Paul Hughes, COO of Guardian 8 also provided the group an overview of the latest concept in enhanced non-lethal weapons that security officers can carry as a substitute for guns, stun guns and baton’s.  To learn more about the product that Guardian 9 developed visit

GMI to Begin Testing Pro-Visions's BodyCam

GMI Guard Management is excited to begin testing the use of Pro-Vision Video Systems’ latest invention, BodyCam, in the Southern California market. Geared specifically toward law enforcement agencies, BodyCam does exactly as its name describes: it’s a small camera that clips onto the guard’s uniform and with the touch of a button, can record up to 18 hours of activity. In addition, these high definition recordings can be viewed on the device’s built-in LCD screen, or downloaded and viewed on any computer or TV/viewing monitor. With a date and time stamp, microphone, night vision, and weather-proof capabilities, these cameras have the ability to capture high-quality video images and sound of interactions with the public at any given time, thus protecting both the guard and the people he/she serves with hard evidence. BodyCam provides the ability to verify or refute claims of excessive force or misconduct, thus giving a sense of security to all parties involved.

Pro-Vision has said that they are experiencing a huge demand for BodyCam, and in just 4 months have outfitted more than 100 police departments with the device, and are currently servicing areas all over the globe. Guard Management consistently strives to be the most technically proficient in our field, and we are proud to be utilizing this new technology to better serve the needs of our guards and clientele.

Though feedback has been primarily positive, it is not unusual for concerns to arise in matters of new and innovative technology. When asked about concerns regarding infringements on privacy because of these high tech devices, Pro-Vision Video Systems CEO, Steve Peacock, responds, “They’re not spying. When you step into a hospital, you’re on camera. When you step into a 7-Eleven, you’re on camera. In this litigious society, it’s a necessary evil.”

RSIG Security Awarded New Contracts

RSIG Security was recently awarded the security contract for the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel in Boston. This location plays a key role in many major events in the Boston market. One of which is the Boston Marathon. The hotel hosts the elite runners for the marathon as well as media and productions services. Several meetings have taken place regarding this year’s preparations for the marathon. RSIG Security has been involved with several of these meetings as well as other community meetings regarding this year’s event. With our Director of Security in place the entire security team will be responsible for the overall protection of all guests staying at this location. We will also be providing security services for several other hotels and hospitals in the immediate area as an increased security presence will be in place along the entire marathon route.

RSIG Security has also been awarded the security contract for New England Studios in Devens MA. This brand new facility recently opened its doors to movie studios looking to film their productions in the New England market. The Studio is comprised of four large sound stages as well as production offices and supporting facilities. This is the first studio of its kind in Massachusetts in which movie productions can utilize state of the art facilities as their base of operations. We are all looking forward to a very busy spring and summer season for the film industry here in Massachusetts.

RSIG Security’s Concierge Division has recently been awarded several contracts at some of Boston’s most prestigious properties. The primary function of our concierges is to provide exceptional client services along with access control throughout the properties. Our concierge department assists owners with various tasks like making restaurant reservations, arranging for spa services, recommending night life hot spots, booking transportation (limousines, airplanes, boats, etc.), procurement of tickets to special events and assisting with various travel arrangements and tours of local attractions. With our upscale establishments, our concierge is often expected to "achieve the impossible", dealing with any request a owner may have, no matter how strange. We rely on an extensive list of contacts with local merchants and service providers to fulfill all owners requests.

RSIG Security has also added two new charitable organizations to the company. The Boston Food Bank located in Boston services the immediate area for those in need of the basic food and nutritional requirements. We have organized and sponsored several volunteer days in which our staff along with clients have provided services in sorting and distributing food and needed supplies to those less fortunate. We also participated in this last year’s holiday toy drive for Toys for Tots. Our company employees donated numerous toys and games for those less fortunate. The drive which was held at one of our client’s sites collected hundreds of toys that went to deserving children this last holiday season. We at RSIG Security look forward to continuing our support and involvement with these two new charitable organizations.
