4th Quarter 2013

Best of Success in the New Year

2013 presented an array of challenges for the contract security industry. A weak economy, the Affordable Care Act and a fierce competitive environment were the driving factors for many security companies lack of growth this past year. On a bright note we feel it is much more than ironic that the member companies of the National Security Alliance were less affected than most as a result of all of those negative influences. Our members stay at the forefront of industry legislation and changes through constant communication with member companies and highly regarded seminars at our twice annual member meetings. It is such a refreshing change to see companies working with each other, not against each other as is usually the case. Our member companies will continue to thrive by working together to promote best practices, group purchasing and referrals which in turn make them all more the productive and cost effective for their clients. That is why it is always the best decision to consider a NSA member company for all of your security needs.

On behalf of our member families to yours we wish you the best of success in 2014.

NCISS Honors Vince Ruffolo Family

At the annual NCISS 38th Annual Conference meeting in beautiful Charleston, SC the family of Vince Ruffolo was honored in Vince's name by receiving the distinguished Vinson Award for Outstanding Service. The award is presented annually to a deserving member of NCISS. Each year the Executive Committee selects the recipient of the Vinson Award for Outstanding Service. The award is intended to be presented to an Elected Director or Committee Chairman who has excelled in their commitment and service to NCISS. However, any current member may be selected should the Executive Committee feel it is appropriate.

The Executive Committee selected Vincent L. Ruffolo, one of the founding fathers of NCISS and a charter member of the NSA, who passed away earlier this year, to receive the award posthumously. Vince's brother Mickey and sister Janet along with their spouses Laurie and Joe were on hand to accept the award on Vince's behalf. It was a very emotional experience for many of us who were close to Vince but a wonderful tribute to his life and dedication to NCISS. Pictured above are the family accepting the award for Vince.
