Per Mar Security to be Honored by Department of Defense for Extraordinary Support of Employees Who Serve in the Wisconsin National Guard and Reserve

Schofield, WI - The Wisconsin Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense, announced today that Bryan Thacker of Per Mar Security, will be honored with a Patriot Award in recognition of extraordinary support of one of their employees - who serves in the Wisconsin Army National Guard.

The presentation took place at Per Mar Security Office, Schofield at 1030 on Tuesday April 10th, 2012. Bryan Thacker also signed a Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserves.

According to Dick Vallin, Wisconsin's ESGR Chairman, "The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation's call to serve. Bryan Thacker was nominated for being highly supportive of their Wisconsin Army National Guard employee, SPC Shawn Dillingham of HHB 1-120th Field Artillery Battalion, Wisconsin Rapids. Supportive employers are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation's National Guard and Reserve units."

As the 1.3 million members of the National Guard and Reserve continue to perform an increasing number of unique missions with America's borders and beyond, ESGR will continue to be the resource for the employers of citizen warriors. ESGR provides education, consultation, and if necessary mediation for employers of Guard and Reserve employees. Hannon Security Works With Law Enforcement

Hannon Security is a member of the Minnesota Crime Prevention Association (MCPA), an organization of crime prevention officers and community service police officers at many police departments in Minnesota. Hannon has used its visibility with this organization to promote itself and the role Hannon plays for Crime Stoppers of Minnesota. Crime Stoppers is a non-profit organization designed to collect information about crimes anonymously and provides cash rewards for tips that lead to an arrest and charges. Hannon provides Crime Stoppers with free office space, phone and computer support, donated employee time, financial and in kind support.

At the annual conference of MCPA Hannon will continue to promote the use of Crime Stoppers with local police departments, as an effective tool to use when the need for information about crimes is heightened. When a police department issues press-releases seeking information about a crime or fugitive, including information on how to contact Crime Stoppers offers an opportunity for those close to a crime to come forward without fear of reprisal by staying anonymous.

The impact of this has helped. In 2011 Crime Stoppers received 885 tips that it shared with 154 differing law enforcement agencies across the entire state of Minnesota. They even sent tips to other states such as Wisconsin, Colorado and Nebraska. The 2011 volume represented an increase of 30% over the previous year.

Hannon has always seen the need to engage with law enforcement to know what is happening near their customers, and to let law enforcement know what is happening in the community; building an open channel of communications and to enhance the value of the security officers in the communities that are served.
